Adriana Nogueira / Adriana Freire Nogueira
Adriana Freire Nogueira has a degree in Classical Languages and Literatures, from the University of Lisbon (1990), and a PhD in Classical Literature and Culture (2001) from the University of Algarve.
She is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the University of Algarve, a researcher at the Center for Research in Arts and Communication (CIAC), at the University of Algarve, and a full member/researcher at the Center for Classical and Humanistic Studies (CECH), at the University of Coimbra, dividing his time between the translation of ancient texts and the study of the reception of antiquity in contemporary times, especially in the visual and performing arts and in literature.
He wrote dozens of articles in magazines in his area of expertise and gave more than two hundred lectures, at home and abroad. Among his academic publications are the translations of Plato's two dialogues into Portuguese: Euthydemus (Eutidemo), and Theaetetus (Teeteto).
As a non-academic author, she has published two fiction books for youngsters, with classical theme (on Hercules) and two short stories in anthologies.
